I recently found out my mom had lung cancer, after she had surgery to remove her top right lobe, we found out she had to do chemo. We were super scared. I remember thinking I wanted to do something special for her for mothers day. I bought the cheapest sewing machine I could find, ordered a kantha blanket and a cancer warrior t shirt, and with the help from a sewing goddess Tabi over videochat , I made my first upcycled kantha tee! For my mom. I made me a matching one to go with it and she absolutely loved it. I wanted her to have something cute and comfy to wear to chemo. Fast forward to now, she has just started chemo, and I am working full time, and doing this when I'm off work. I am so incredibly happy I found an artistic outlet as I've been searching for one my entire adult life. I know I'm just one person, but I hope that my clothes can bring happiness and joy to even just one person. My biggest goal in life is for my mom to see me succeed at something I love, and to make her proud. I think I finally found it. Thank you to everyone who has placed orders and been so supportive.
